Creating meaningful opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through recreation, friendship, and community engagement.

Maryland Cool K!ds, Inc. was founded by a group of mothers who recognized a critical need for meaningful, inclusive opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Frustrated by the limited options available, they created a program that helps participants stay active, connected, and engaged in their community.

Today, we offer a full calendar of free and low-cost activities, special events, and volunteer opportunities for adults with special needs throughout Frederick County and the surrounding areas. Our programs provide opportunities to build friendships, develop social and emotional skills, gain confidence, and experience the satisfaction of giving back through community service.

Getting started is easy. Participants are welcome to attend any of our activities as long as they:

• Have dedicated one-to-one support staff during activities

• Complete our free participant membership form‍ ‍

• Ensure their support staff completes a separate staff membership form

Once your forms are complete, you can start attending any of our free or low-cost drop-in activities listed on our Activities Calendar.
